Look who has braces

Brooke was a champ today - She is in her first set of braces with a long road ahead of her. Dr. Tindall, her orthodontist said we are probably looking at having her in them for 10 to 12 months and then possibly with a retainer after that. Then she will get back in them when she is 13 or so and this does not rule out the possibility of her getting the surgery of breaking and resetting her jaw. So this chunk of fun cost $3,500.00, luckily with insurance we ONLY have to pay $1,200.00. In the next couple of months they will add the braces on the bottom. She loves them so far, she was the hit of her class when she came back to class - not many second graders get to wear braces. The doctor also informed me today that with inheriting my jawline, (which I also think the overbite is in Braums side as well, she got a double whammy). She also has peg laterals that will need to be built up - that she gets from her dad. Dr. Tindall just shook his head and said she got it bad :) ~~But all is fixable and that we should be grateful for.
~ Oh - and yes they are sitting in the grass I grew :) ~

Braum was getting impatient with me on sending a picture of the house with the new grass. I need to take a better picture when I am not fighting off the sun. Its amazing how a little :) grass can make it "Home Sweet Home"

Rylie is a superstar

Rylie is a "SUPERSTAR"
Rylie received the best citizenship award in her class, (this is the third year in a row she has won this award, Leavenworth had done it also). I am so so proud of her, she won a free kids meal at Applebee's, so tonight we went out to celebrate.
She was also elected by her teachers (the only girl in her class), to be a part of the student council - isn't that awesome. She gets to miss a full day of school and attend a leadership workshop in RockSprings, Junction City. ~~~ (the next Sarah Palin) I am beaming for this little girl who is getting bigger and bigger by the day!! My little Rylie, who used to love to just sit on my lap with her red curls! We are blessed to have her!

Brooke had her second soccer game last night. She played great!! Both games were losses, so that's no fun - but it is so fun to watch her play! Cade actually stays by me this year and I am not chasing him off the field!! ~~ We missed you Daddy - wished you could be there!

Rylie's soccer

Here is Rylie before her 2nd soccer game - they have played two games and are undefeated. She had a great 2nd game, almost scoring 2 goals but more importantly was really aggressive and up by the ball a lot.

So I know it has been a long time since I have posted a picture, and yet still no picture. Soccer season is a great time to get out the camera but it is also such a crazy time without Braum here to help. Remembering to bring the camera has been challenging. So, tonight I thought I would post one of the many daily stories I could tell about the girls. This one involves Brooke and Ashlynn.

Brooke is saying here prayers tonight in her bed with Ashlynn and I praying with her -
"Dear Heavenly Father I have a question, can I ride dinosaurs in heaven and will Tickaboo be there to watch? In Jesus name I pray amen".

Ashlynn says her prayer without hesitation after Brooke -
"Dear Heavenly Father I have a question, can you put all of the dinosaurs in their OWN room in heaven and all of the dogs in their own room, - thank you, in Jesus name we pray amen".

Usually questions is not a routine in our prayers - but I am sure He was listening. :) Then I leave the room and pass Cade's room and he is in his bed singing twinkle twinkle little star to himself.

I miss Braum more than ever being outside doing all this stuff by myself, it is much more fun when he is home - but I am on a mission. I can see the light - we may just have grass after all.
